Dallas, TX: Heritage Auction Galleries, the world's third largest auction house, continues expanding and will host its inaugural fine art auction in its new Dallas Design District annex at 1518 Slocum Street this Thursday and Friday, December 6 and 7. The auction features quality paintings and sculpture by American and European masters including Joan Miro, Roy Lichtenstein, Diego Giacometti, and Andy Warhol, as well as an excellent selection of works on paper, from original drawings and watercolors to prints and photography.
"The Design District has become a regular stop for many of Dallas' art collectors and buyers of antiques and furniture. Our new location at Slocum and Dragon Streets opened last week and will accommodate the types of large paintings and sculptures we've added in recent years, and make it easy for public viewing," said Tim Robson, Heritage's Managing Director of Fine and Decorative Arts.
With total sales of approximately $600 million in 2007, Heritage has opened this second Dallas area facility to house the expansion of its Fine and Decorative Arts, Jewelry and Timepieces divisions as well as launch a new category, Natural History. Heritage's headquarters will remain at 3500 Maple Avenue, where the company continues to host auctions of rare coins, currency, comics, sports memorabilia, entertainment memorabilia, rare books and manuscripts, Americana, Civil War memorabilia, and other collectibles.
